I'm looking to buy a Fujitsu 7010D from Portable One (aka laptopsinc.com), and I hear great things about the company. Does anyone have experience with their default warranty? I have heard about a liberal dead-pixel policy, but no details. Also, it's tough to find this info on the Web site (not a good thing). Is the company's support very good even if I don't pay for any extra?

    Thanks!

I've never had to use their support...always went straight to Fujitsu which is very good.

BTW - moving this to the Fujitsu forum since that's what brand almost everyone buys from P1.

    Brian,

Gotcha. But without purchasing any support (3-year warrant, etc.), how well-covered am I? If the mouse stops working in 3 months or the hard drive dies, will I get a replacement?

You get a 1-year from Fujitsu, so yes. You get an extra year if you buy with AMEX. Anyway, you'll be calling Fujitsu for support, not P1, though they're always happy to help.

You just need to register...either online or via phone. I don't know what additional steps are required for the AMEX 1-year though. I normally don't keep my machines that long. [ :D]
