The power connector on my 6120 must be hanging on by a thread!
When working on electric, I have to have the plug, at the computer, situated just so, or it will go to battery.
Any idea what's wrong, where to get it fixed, and how much?
I called Fujitsu, and they said they would have to replace the entire motherboard!
Thanks.[V]

I'd start by checking the power cord, that's the cheapest to replace. You really don't want to send it in for service if you don't have to. You can probably pick up a new cord on ebay for less than $20, it would be nice to have a spare anyway.

Thank you.
No, it's not the cord, I'm sure of that. I do have 2 cords. I'm pretty positive that it's the connector.

If it's not a warranty item, instead of replacing the motherboard, I'd get another battery and a $137 Battery Charger(FPCBC06) which can charge two at once. It would be hassle changing batteries, but how much are they quoting for a new mobo?

Didn't think about the 2nd battery
That would be an excellent option.
I do have a port replicator. But, I know the broken connector is my fault, and the lappy is out of warranty.
I kept getting my big feet on the cord!
A new mb would be about $400 or so. One company quoted me a $195 P&L to replace the connector. I'd have to ship from NJ to CA though.
I could fix it if I could find the right connector. Just don't know the specs on it, or where to get it.

If you have some soldering skills you can just open it and reattach things where they need to be with a soldering thingy! It seems a lot of people are doing the same with different laptop brands!

Yes, I could. I wonder if there is any instructions on how to properly open the case. But, it's defintely worth a try.
