Hey guys! Does anyone know if the price of the Fujitsu Lifebook N6410 might go down any time soon? Is it possible that it will go down because of the new Core 2 Duo Laptops coming out? Does anyone know when it would be, I am on a timeline because I will be leaving the country in the end of September. Also, how significant of a decrease do you think it would be? I really want this laptop but am almost thinking of getting a Dell just because of the high prices and that I can not upgrade some of the components of it like the video card and the battery. Thank you.

They usually just release a $100 rebate. They have a bunch of them out now for other models, so that may be a sign that those models are getting an update before the N6xx series. You can also get $25 off here, and if you are lucky, some freebie like a printer or a flash drive next month. If $125 + possibility of a freebie doesn't cut it, just get the Dell. If it would, you don't have much to lose by waiting. In the meantime, Dell may have a special/price cut/whatever too, right - or are they doing that already now, since they're the first ones to get Core 2s? Anyway, if you are leaving the country, you'd be way better off with Fujitsu's international warranty, so have you taken that into the pricing consideration? Well, good luck, and I hope you can get the Fujitsu :)

I wound up getting a Dell, but I got it loaded. I tried talking to the Fujitsu but they did not want to lower their price at all. Their system came out to be very expensive pluse you can't upgrade it. So I decided that I will get the Dell now and in the future when Fujitsu makes a machine that has more options for an upgrade (as far as video card and battery go) I will get that. But the Dell that I purchased has the following configuration: It's a e1705, it has a T2500 2.Gig Core Duo Processor, has 2 Gigs of Memory, has a 100 Gig 7200 hard drive, has the 7900 NVidia GE... Video Card, has 9 cell lithium battery, wireless with bluetooth, the Wide 17 inch UXGA screen... Windows XP Professional. It wound up beint $2140 dollars in the end. (they allowed me to get an additional 75 dollar promotion even though they already gave me 20 % off. I upgraded the battery from a 6 cell to a 9 cell paying only 4 dollars for that because of the 75 dollar promo. Do you think it's a good deal? ;)
