I own a Fujitsu Tablet pc T4010 but i think they are not selling it anymore. i cannot find it on their site. But anyway, i have dis promblem starting up. When i plug in my charger with the battery inside, the LCD panel of the computer will show that they have detected the charger and will show the status of the battery being charged. den when i proceed to press the on button it will not start up, although it shows that the battery is charging. I den went to a PC shop and left it with them. When i returned, they said that i had used hibernate too much and would cause such problems, but if i leave the battery in for a longer period of time and let it charge, they said that it would start up. i went home and found that it was true. but now everytime i wanted to start the computer up, i have to wait for the battery to charge first, and sometimes it takes me an hour or so. And as a additional info, my battery is dead and cannot charge and i dun understand why the computer shows it charging or even needs to wait for it to "charge" up to boot. Previously i had taken the battery out as it was already dead, i only needed to plug in the charger to boot it up. I always hibernate as i find it faster then shutting the computer down and booting it up again. The service man said that constantly hibernating will cause such problems and said that to fix the problem i needed to change some parts and it would be expensive. i wonder wat is wrong with my computer and does hibernating for long term cause this? i have been hibernating for around 1 and a half years. Also the battery is a li-on 9 cell battery and is it common for it to die out ( unable to charge) i only used it for 2 years

    Welcome to NBR!

First of all I want to say that I feel sorry for you. I will try to guide you with this problem.

I first want to say that hibernate does not cause any damage to your notebook. So what the PC shop said is nonsense. I know people on this forum that do not turn off their notebook, they just put it on stand-by.

It is possible that the battery is dead after 2 years. Using it at extreme conditions (in the car with heat, running very long, discharging to 0% a lot) can cause the battery to die.

What you can do to fix this problem is this: in case that your battery is dead, you can replace it by buying a new one. But untill then I recommend you to work with your adapter plugged in and the battery out of the notebook. That should cause no problems with booting.

But maybe you should search for some calibration software for your battery. F&S can have such programs at their support site.

    Good luck.

    Charlie :)

hmmm but the problem is that i cannot start up the computer without putting the battery in the computer with the adapter inside and "charge" it for a while before i can turn it on. From what you know is this something wrong with the computer lyke the trigger for turning it on? or does the computer have any basic requirement to bootup e.g battery must be charged up to 90% or so and so? If so is there anything i can do about it. I can seem to start the computer up with juz the adapter plugged in. I wonder if anyone here experience the same problem? Fujitsu juz sucks. I had many problems with it, especially with the tablet hinge. The screw holding the hinge has alrdy came out 4 times and cause the LCD screen front cover to totally warp and once it almost crack the sooo expensive LCD screen. Fortunately they cover it as warranty but it is juz a bummer having to send it to the centre to and fro since it is not near my house and now i also have to pay a fee of SGD$80 juz for the "workmanship" that they do. I am not considering to buy a new battery cause it costs around SGD$200 and i am going to buy a computer maybe around mid next year. But thanks for your help in advanced! :)

No problem mate, I am here to help.

As long as I know the battery is not a trigger for turning a notebook on. That is not a requirement.
Something you can do is reset the BIOS. You can do this by taking out the motherboard battery or the easy way: unplug your notebook, take out the battery and hold the On-button for 10 seconds. Now plug the adapter in the notebook without the battery and start the tablet. Maybe that works?

By the way, are you sure that the voltage and ampere of the adapter meets the requirements of the tablet.

    Good luck.

    Charlie :)
