Let me start off by saying I love my N06010. The thing has been flawless from day one. Until today. I turned on the laptop this morning and everything was working fine. Closed the lid, came back about 15 min. later and my screen flashed and went out!. I closed the lid, and reopened it again. The screen came on for a split second and then off again. Seems like there is something wrong with the switch that turns the screen off and on. Now on my Dell 8600 the switch is right below the screen. You can push the little pin down and the screen goes off. But the switch on the N6010 must be inside the bottom of the lcd. I know it's not a software or driver issue since it does it on boot up. I emailed P1 about an hr. and a half ago and I'm waiting on their response. I really hope its something I can fix myself so I dont have to ship it back to P1. Anybody have any suggestions? If not I'll just sit here and stare at my shiny black screen 'till I hear from P1.[V]

Just received and email from Ivan at P1. He said that if it's something I can do myself, that Eric would get in touch with me to walk me through it. If not, I would have to sent it to Memphis to have it fixed but they could probably setup a next day turnaround. Keeping my finger crossed.[

It could be the connector that the signal to the screen goes thru. The wire might have gone bad, or just gone loose.
I really hope it's not the screen cause that will mean you have to wait for a week for fujitsu to send them a new screen and then they replace it and ship it back to you. That's what happened to me, sent my N6 to P1 monday afternoon and got it back tuesday morning (the next week) with a new screen from fujitsu that P1 had ordered the day I shipped my laptop to them.
Keep us posted on what happens with you!

I don't think it's the screen. You can still see the images,(just barely if you tilt the screen just right) just no backlight. I think it's whatever controls the back light. I'm hoping anyway.

Ok, after waiting all day from someone at P1 to contact me about fixing my laptop, I finally emailed Ivan asking for assistance. He emailed me right back and said he would check on it for me. A few minutes later he emailed me back with an rma to Memphis. It was to late for Fedex to come out today, so they will be here tomorrow to pick up the unit. To be continued....

Here's the latest on my laptop. It arrived in Memphis Wed. and they checked it out. According to Eric at P1 it is the power converter that controls the back light. And of course as my luck would have it they don't have the part in stock. Fujitsu sent me an email telling me this as well but they didnt know when the part would be in. I sent an email over to Eric at P1 to see if he could get an eta on the part. He emailed me back saying that he had my system moved to the head of the repair line, and that my part should be her by Friday. He also said that they would check to see if they could locate the part from a different source. Gotta love P1's service. If I had purchased my laptop from someone else it would probably be still sitting there on the loading dock. Well that's were I stand as of now. I'll keep ya posted.

I just heard from Eric that the parts came in for my laptop today, and that if it didn't ship out today, it will ship out tomorrow. I really hope it shipped today. I'd rather not go another weekend without it.

Well, at least this hasn't been too painful for you...

Well thanks to Ivan and Eric at P1, and the guys at Fujitsu, my laptop arrived on SATURDAY! I've used it for the last couple of days and it's just as good as it was when I first got it. Thanks to Fujitsu for the great work they did taking care of my problem. And a big thanks to Ivan and Eric at P1 who again proved they are the best when it comes to customer service.

Well, I just had the same problem present itself today. It is exactly the same problem as described above. I wonder if it is a general problem with this model, anyone else having the same problem?

I certaily hope that this is a minor flaw. It worries me because we have had this unit for only 5 months, and it is handled very gently, it sits on a desk where it is not moved at all. The lid is hardly ever closed.
