    I have an S6210(Pentium M 1.6 ghz)with 512mb ... is there a noticable performance increase going to 1gb? Will I need to pull the 256mbx2 chips?

    Thanks.

There's a larger jump from 256 to 512 in my opinion. 1GB is nice, but I don't think you'll feel it too much, though it depends on what you do with the machine. For browsing and office docs, no.

There are only two slots, so if you upgrade you will have to remove at least one of the current chips.

With the two slots we have available, can any combination of RAM work? Say 256mb + 512mb, or 256mb + 1gb?

    Thanks.

Yes, any combo would work. The max is 1 gb + 1 gb in each slot.
