    Hello All,

I bought a new 6010 last week and its beautiful. But I found a Issue with the DVD Drive's Region Lock feature. Looks like we can change regions only 4 times.

Can anybody let us know if there are any firmware updrades or software to unlock this region code? I know that DVDRegionFree software does'nt work on this Drive. The Drive is Mat****a UJ-8XX

    Really Appreciate any help !

    Thanks!

Do all Fujitsu laptops come with mat****a drives???[?]
I just hate those drives, I have had so many problems with them and some certain types of media. Plus there are never any firmware upgrades available online to upgrade them and solve issues (although a newer firmware might exist, it is just that it is never made available online). Only way to upgrade is to find someone with a drive that is blessed with a new firmware and extract it from the drive [ :(!]
Please note I am just talking about firmware upgradablity, nothing to do with region limitation. That is a totally different story that is even riskier to atempt with those drives, it left one of my drive's DVD features none functional although it is fully functional as a CDRW drive ... pretty weird [ :(]

[?]Can the optical drives be replaced with some of the more decent brands available on the market. I know that NEC manufacture laptop optical drives that are available to consumers, but would those fit on fujitsu laptops; physically and hardware compatibilty wise???
