I wonder if it is possible to even revive a li-on dead battery.

What do you mean by dead? How old is it?

Li-Ion batteries are only designed to last for a certain length of time and charge cycles. If it's an older battery, its capacity may have gone below the power threshhold of your system and it can no longer provide the needed power for your notebook.

Read more about it in the battery guide.

It is around a year and a half old. And it cannot charge or discharge. Or shud i say that I can charge it but if i pull out the powerplug it would only last a few secs and it takes lyke 3 secs to charge it to full ( as so the indicator says)

I'm guessing you haven't calibrated the battery at all since you got it. That may be part of the problem. Please read through the battery guide.

From what I'm reading here, it may be time for a new battery. The battery guide will hopefully help you keep the new one last a little longer.
