I was just wondering, for those who have used the S6000 or S7000 series, if the notebooks get very hot. How do these models do with regulating heat (fans always running, noise, etc)? Do they get hot on the palm rest? The underneath side? Thanks!!!

    Fan:
Comes on for a few seconds when turning notebook on.
Comes on when CPU usage is high (like running antivirus scan, etc.)
So the fan really doesnt run very much at all.
The fan is obviously audible, but I wouldnt call it annoying, besides it is hardly ever on, so its no big deal.

    Heat:
No heat on palm rest at all.
The bottom does get hot, but not to the point of making it untolerable by any means.

    Any other questions?

I would agree. I've heard that the fan was loud but on mine (s7010 1.5M) it's only on at the startup and even then I'm okay with it. The bottom can get hot and the palm rests can get a little warm but not uncomfortable for typing.
