I bought a S2110 Lifebook on ebay with XP Pro. It worked fine for a week, then the hard drive died before I could back it up. I didn't get the original CDs with it, but I have the MS XP Pro key stuck to the bottom, so I assume I am entitled to use that key to restore it ? I am not sure what to do ? Can I use an XP Pro install CD , if I can find one and then use my lifebook MS key ? Do I have to use the CDs that probably came with the lifebook ? If you have the appropriate media I'll pay to borrow it, as long as I am able to use my key.

    Thanks !!

I think if I recall correctly, the key will only work with the OEM cd that came with the lappy, so your best bet is to contact the original seller, since it has been a week.

He 'said' he damaged the first disk, so the other disk(s) are useless. :(
