So I've had by S2110 for a good 9 months or so now (it's been an awesome notebook) so far. Now, I know that original reviews said that the casing shows grease easily and finger prints, I had no idea how bad. Where your palms rest while typing, I have (seemingly) permanent palm marks (after only 9 months) that I can not get off with any amount of scrubbing, so I assume their permanently in the plastic now. The key also show a fair amount of the same "shininess" that also seems permanent. Honestly, I really hate the way it looks and wondering if anybody has had the same trouble.

    Thanks.

I had the same probelm on my Fujistu S6231. I think the casing cannot handle the natural grease and sweat from arms/wrists. I've seen similar problems on Sharp laptops as we..

Hmm, I wonder if there's any way to refinish this plastic. Like I said, it's not something that's removable with soap and water.

if you want the perfect solution here it is...

A company called iklear (iklear.com) makes notebook cleaning supplies for mac computers. A product called Apple Polish Singles comes with a two step process. The first step is a wet cloth that is similar to a wet napkin. Use it to clean your notebook grease and LCD screen. The second step is to use their dry cloth. I used it on my S2110 and it worked perfectly my screen is super clean and no finger prints on my notebook. They come in a pack of 10 and i use one a month to help keep my notebook clean. I picked them up at the MAC / Apple store in the mall.

what i think you are describing is just wear on the keyboard and palmrest. when you use it often, it rubs away the matted finish on the keys and palmrest and reveals the shiny service underneath. it happens to all notebooks, not just the s2110.
