Was wondering if anyone in the fujitsu forum knew if any of these are compatible with the S6000.

    Panasonic - http://www.dfwdepot.com/osc/product_info.php?products_id=232
    Pinoneer - http://www.dfwdepot.com/osc/product_info.php?products_id=234

Hopefully, someone who knows for sure or maybe through experience. Hopefully, when I purchase the S6000, I'll just customize it without a cd drive and buy either the panasonic or pioneer slotloading drive seperately.

    Thanks... [ :D]

s6000 is a modular drive. It has a notch in the lower right corner for the eject mechanism. Unless you can swap the bezels, I doubt it will fit.

Ok, i can see how that is. In that case, do you what types of ROMs i can swap into the fujitsu S6000 modular bay? I'm hoping to find a slot loading dvd player/cd burner, if that's possible.

I don't know of any other than those from Fujitsu. If you want something else, you're going to have to modify it I would think.

From the specs on Fujitsu's webiste, this is a guess, it looks like a Panasonic drive since it does only DVD-R and DVD-RAM. If it is the 9.5mm height drive like ThinkPads uses, you're hosed. The only ones that will fit are the Panasonic UJ-812/822. They are impossible to find, I know becuase I looked for one for my ThinkPad. Maybe an owner over in the Fujitsu forum will know what drive it is. A cheaper route would be to buy an external slim one. An external desktop route will be the cheapest and fastest. That is what I did for my Thinkpad, then I got the modular battery for the bay. Good Luck.
