Just got my S6231 a few hours ago. I have been using it installing programs and stuff but it is KILLING my eyes. It feels like my eyes are in a vice. Is this normal??? I have a 17" LCD I use at home that doesnt bother me a bit and I have 20/20 vision.

OK, I promised to do a review on this but I decided I will wait till next week to write it in order to give myself time to get some experience with the unit.

Hurting your eyes? Either you're not really 20/20 or the high res just doesn't work for you. The display on that unit is fantastic.

Hey Brian. I know the display is good. I think maybe its the brightview or something. I just cant get used to it. I used a 12' powerbook before and it didnt bother me. Too bad I cant get used to this screen because this notebook is fabulous. It just really strains my eyes to use it.

Try dimming down the brightness on the notebook, and if it gets hard to see increase it after. If it still occurs, hmm best thing you can do is start wearing some dark shades to not hurt it as much [ :D]

Can you bypass the whole "startup" and "shutdown" sequences by closing the lid to "standby" and opening the lid to awake from "standby"?

Is winxp SP2 already in the image?

Have your eyes gotten used to the screen?

Yes, that's a pretty standard option in XP.

<hr height='1' noshade id='quote'></font id='quote'></blockquote id='quote'>Cool, can't wait. My current 1.5yr cheapo toshiba satellite could never do that without the screen going berzerk requiring a reboot.
