I wonder if P1's deal is still the best?

The 3 year warranty is worth $179 if you were to get it through Fujitsu so its a trade off. If you dont think you need the warranty and dont want any upgrades then Newegg is the best deal. If you want upgrades and/or a warranty go P1. Newegg is only $94 cheaper with shipping. Boo ya! Im still happy with my choice. My S6231 shows up tomorrow morning. w00t!

I think I am gonna be voiding my warranty pretty soon since I plan on installing a 7K60 myself (Unless that doesn't break any warranty seal). But what concerns me most is the one piece 512MB which is a great offer from P1, and the reason why I think that I'll still order the S6231 from them.

I am waiting for your first impressions before I order [ :p]. BTW what's the configuration that you ordered?

I called Fujitsu support. The guy couldnt tell me exactly if it would void the warranty to change the hard drive or not. He said it depends on the model. He also told me they dont even give you a real copy of windows XP. They give you some stupid recovery disk. I think that is the most retarded thing I have ever heard. I guess I will see in a few hours but they should tell you that before you buy it. How lame.

I called P1. They said changing will NOT void the warranty on the notebook only that the hard drive isnt covered (same as ram). But if you buy the harddrive new online you can get it with a 3 year warranty. So you can still get a 3 year warranty on everything.

At this point I would guess so. You don't want to add it yourself?

I had to do surgury to extricate a driver once that windows update recommended. SP2 shored up the whole wireless thing and the focus has moved from using manufacturer tools to letting winxp handle the wifi settings. While I know the first task will be removing the spam demo programs they put in the image, I'd prefer if SP2 was already installed.
