Could someone familiar with the S6231 help me with a few questions I have before buying one.

Datavision (in NY) are listed as an authorised dealer on the Fujitsu website. The SKU/PART numbers for the S6231 have the prefix "FPCR" on the Datavision website whereas on Newegg and the Fujitsu webshop it is "FPCM". Does anyone know the difference between FPCR and FPCM?

I am looking at the FPCR41724 which has a DVD+-RW. Is the drive made by Matsh ita (Panasonic)? If someone a S6231 with DVD+-RW, could you please let me know the model number?
(I travel a lot and buy DVDs from different regions. My Toshiba M-30 series has a Mat****a UJ-820S which does not have any firmware available on the web to flash it to RPC-1. It also does not work with DVD Region Free software etc.) I wouldn't want to get stuck with a region locked DVD drive (after the 5 changes).

And finally, where is the S6231 made?

    Thanks!

I can answer the made question, it's made in Japan. I'd consider buying from www.portableone.com

I've used them a couple times and most people here enjoy their service and prices. They can also answer your other two questions if no one chimes in.
