Has anyone here had experience with the 6231 or other refurbished Fujitsu machines? I'm looking at getting a refurb S6231, as I've heard they are one of the best in portability, battery life, and expandibility (modular bay). The price on Fujitsu's Outlet store is close to unbeatable, and I really like the idea of the modular bay.

I've seen one or two posts about how awful Fujitsu support is, but I'm not sure if that was just one bad case or what not. The warranty with refurbs is 90 days, and $89.95 to add a year. Would you all suggest at least the year warranty, or no?

Also, is there a dead pixel policy with these machines?

    Just thought I'd ask. :)

I just ordered a P7010 refurb, here is what I know about refurbs.

You cannot return the system. You can get a replacement only if something is broken to the point where the system doesn't function properly.

The warranty only covers manufacture defects and NOTHING else.

I didn't go with the warranty, I feel that if anything major will go wrong it will go wrong in the first 90 days. But that might just be me.

I don't think that there is a dead pixel policy.

    Good luck.

Hmmm, for $90 I'd probably go for it because it's cheap, but rationally, you probably don't need it. The unit has already been out and was either returned or had something fixed, so the logic that whatever is going to go wrong already has or will within 90 days is probably sound.

As for support, there are a few vocal people who have had problems with the display in one line, but not this one. I've always had great experiences when calling and I hear their online chat is responsive too.

Wow, thanks for the quick replies.

I've really just started looking at the Fujitsu's after finding the outlet store. The prices there are just amazing, and from what I hear the products are very well made as well.

I'll probably be saving up for a S6231 or the P7010.
