My wife is in need of a new laptop. All she wants to be able to do is obtain email, access the internet, burn cd's, and some business basics. I am looking at the Fujitsu S6321, Fujitsu S6210A and the Dell 600M. Of course she wants the biggest screen with the lightest weight. Any sugggestions? Is the S6231 that much better than the S6210A? Thanks.

No, the 6231 is not a ton different. If the price gap is large, the 6210 is the way to go. The Dell 600m will be cheaper, but also more poorly built with terrible service. I will say that the 600m is the best inspiron in their lineup right now though.

Thanks Brian. I also need the abilty to plug my Ipod through the laptop via fireport. Looking around on the Web, Newegg has the best deal but the trade off seems to be that I cannot custimize it so I can choose 1 512 card instead of 2 256 cards. The S6231 is about $75 more than the S6210A but $200 more than the Dell.

If you're going to plug an Ipod into the notebook, be advised that they don't come with the 6-pin Firewire port, only a 4-pin port. You can always use the USB port, and plus it charges your Ipod as well. The only notebook that you will find a 6-pin Firewire port is the Apple Ibook/Powerbook series

What more do I need for this thing?
