    http://store.shopfujitsu.com/fpc/Ecommerce/buildseriesbean.do?series=S6520&ptype=NB

    Skipping the whole Intel 't' line (8100, 8300, 9300, 9500) for P8400, P8600, p9500.. processors..

AND 5400 rpm drives from 80-320GB
and for ME a 120GB 7200 rpm drive option. Perfect size and speed - don't need any more storage.

and from 1-4GB of DDR 3 memory....

and Discs for BOTH Vista Biz and XP Pro.

    There's my set up.

Also with inexpensive Bluetooth and Fingerprint options.

I'm looking forward to this notebook too. 14'' LCD in this small body is the best combination. I just need to find an answer to one question before I'm ready to buy it. I'm not sure if it supports 1920x1200 resolution on a external monitor. According to the specs on the Fujitsu web-site, 1600x1200 is the maximum (like S6510). But, I think the new Intel Video Chip X4500 can do 1920x1200. If not, it is a deal breaker for me.

A Low Profile 14, that weighs the same as a Sony 13.3 and even Less without the optical Drive (3.7 lbs)! My old Toshiba Qosmio 15.4" weighed 8.6 lbs.

I'm not 21 any more and like the slightly bigger screen. 11/12 inch screens just are too small.

So, has anybody got this notebook yet? I cannot decide to buy it until I get an answer to my question above.

I have had the S6520 for 2 weeks now and am quite pleased. It is a replacement for a 3 year old S7020. This is my first Vista and it does take some getting used to but works fine with 2 gigs of DDR3 and P8600 (I don't game). It does come with XP recovery disk for "downgrading". Screen is beautiful. In fact it was initially uncomfortably bright. I discovered that there was a Fujitsu utility which had it turned up to "presentation mode". Additional comments:

    1. Runs noticeably cooler than S7020. No hot spots at all.
    2. Battery life seems significantly longer.
    3. N wi fi really works. Am getting 130Kps in mixed mode with a g machine on the network.
    4. Amazing weight difference from other 14" units.
    5. Case is matte black finish, silver inside.
    6. Good fit and finish.

Overall I believe that the 8520 is worth the premium price if weight is a consideration.

I have typed on 6510, which I understand is similar to the 6520, and the keyboard is impressive. A tiny bit of flex near the enter key over the optical drive.

    jberns,

Do you use it with an external monitor? If so, could you please check the max resolution?

    Jberns.
    1. What is your Hard Drive? (120 or 250 are the Pre-config model choices) at my link above. Think I'm going for the 7200RPM. What do you think?
    2. How is the antenna capture when you're outside your network?
    3. Where/how much did you pay?
I assume Fujitsu as very few carry this, but am looking for Non-Sales-tax-for-NY-websites.
(which only seems to include the Not-in-stock 'laptop authority'.and with sales tax Newegg which Only has the lowest end 1GB config)

    jberns returns with some answers.
    1. keyboard flex is minimal. Seems like there is a "coffee" barrier under the keyboard. Keyboard is very good.
    2. I can't answer the external monitor question.
    3. Purchased from fujitsu. Unit was shipped directly from Japan. 2 days from shipment to receipt! amazing.
    4. My unit is 120HDD. Was configured with an additional 1 gig D drive segment (which I did not request). Suggest going for the larger drive as I already have only 66.3 gig free. 5400 rpm seems fine to me. Unit is very responsive in every way.
    5. Wi fi range is definitely better than older model.

I had the extra 1 GB partition too. Is it for turbo memory? It might be used for system files/drivers.

I think VGA port can't support 1920*1080 because of the internal digital to analog module can't handle 1920*1080 resolution.

Anyway, S6520 is not a good choice for HTPC laptop. You should find a GM45-based laptop with HDMI output.

You are right, the notebook's VGA will most likely not be able to handle 1920x1080 (/1200). However, Fujitsu has a docking station for this notebook with a DVI output. But, of cource, there is a scarce info on its max resolution either. I don't even dare to ask here if somebody ever tried it :) On the other hand, has anybody seen this notebook at any retail store yet? I think the only way for me to find out the max resolution would be to do it at the store.

I still believe that this is the smallest 14'' notebook today, and this is the characteristic I'm looking for in my next notebook. I don't plan to use it for home theater purposes. Just want to be able to use it with a large monitor at its full resolution.
