I just got my S7010 and I noticed that the screen is exceptionally brighter at the bottom. Is this due to the backlight? Has anyone else noticed this? Thanks.

If you're looking at the screen straight on, that is not normal behavior. Is this a new machine?

I notice this on my 6210, especially when I play some video with all dark scenes. I don't know whether this is normal.

I also notice this along the bottom of my S7010D. Play a video and switch to full screen and you will see what we are talking about. It's only about the botton 1/2 inch.

It's funny how some of us complain about things like this and others don't seem to notice or aknowledge what we are talking about.

Hey Packrat - you see this on your screen as well?

Brian - the computer is new . . . about 4 days old.

Oh, JAG, although I can observe the bright bottom, your screen seems way more protrusive than mine. Actually, my wife never feel it anoising, not even think it existing if I haven't point it out to her.

You might want to ask for a replacement.

Yeah, that's terrible. Go get a new one...or don't look at anything with a black background.

I recently had my lcd replaced because of a white spot, there were also 2 bad pixels. The replacement screen was perfect with no bad pixels.

I did notice the "glow" at the bottom of the original screen but it doesn;t seem nearly as bad now as what I remembered. Perhaps it was a problem with the old screen that is now gone.

I understand manufacturing and yields and how if we want perfect everything will be more expensive. I also know we are spending $2000 for product that is about 75% lcd screen. For this kind of money we should not expect any defects.
