I hear that the S7010 runs cooler and is quieter as far as fan noise goes than the S7020 due to the Dothan in the S7010. So is there any other major differences between the two? Would it be better to buy a S7010 if I am very picky about fan noise?

Well there are advantages to the new Sonoma platform, such as the improved built-in graphics of the i915 chipset. But since graphics and gaming are not a reason to buy such a machine (it's more of a business type highly mobile laptop), I don't think that is much of a selling point.

If I were buying something in that class, I would buy the one that runs coolest, quitest, and consumes least battery. ie S7010

Maybe some users who have the S7020 might be more helpful concerning how hot and loud it runs.

I chose the Dothan T42 over the Sonoma T43 since I am not doing anything where I need the latest and greatest.
