I am about to decide between S7020 and E8020 laptops. I want to have SXGA+ resolution and am afraid that the text on S7020's 14.1" screen may be a little too small although I would prefer S7020 over E8020. Should I buy from Portable One, would they accept to exchange S7020 for a E8020 if the text is too small to read? If it's going to be a problem, then I would rather order E8020 in the first place. Thanks!

I thinnk you'll be fine with it, just know it's not the CV screen. Clear it with P1 first, but it's my understanding they still have a 30-day return policy.

I personally would reccomend the 14' with SXGA (non-CV).. I've had an IBM T42 SXGA and a E3020D XGA w/CV.. and I liked the T42's SXGA screen much more as I had more real estate. of course depends on your vision too..

Go to the local computer store and look at screens with similar resolutions. If they don't have Fujitsu's (which most don't) look for a comparably sized Sony or Toshiba; the IBM T43's screens have similar resolutions. I happen to be one that dislikes the high resolutions- I can read them, but find them uncomfortable. Interestingly, before buying a laptop for my daughter, I went to a local store that had the different laptops, and she saw an S7010 CV in person and was able to compare it to an IBM T43 (they didn't have the SVGA of the 7010 on display), and instantly hated the SVGA; she felt for reading lots of text for long periods the small print would be tedious, despite the extra screen real estate. Obviously, the posters above disagree, which is why I am pointing out it is a personal decision, and you should look at different screen resolutions in person before deciding.

I decided to go with S7020D SXGA+ screen and ordered it last night. Now I have to wait until it gets here. Thanks for your feedback!
