I couldn't get my microphone worked with my S7020D. Does anyone have a similar problem?

I have downloaded the latest Realtek HD audio driver (version 5.10.0.5211), and double checked - the mic is not muted.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

I have tried Win XP Sound Recorder as well as Yahoo Messenger.

Messenger returns an error indicating no microphone has been detected.

Ok, since there are no-takers, let me ask you this. Is there anybody out there, an S7020 owner of course, who has successfully used a microphone on his/her laptop? I didn't know I had a problem until I tried several days ago.

If you can use your mic, then what version of Realtek driver are you using?

    Thanks in advance!

I had a similiar problem... the only way that I got it to work was using the line in instead of the mic..been using it with skype for 4 months.. works.. but not ideal..

someone at fujitsu accidently forgot to test that part.. -mr

    hi melihp,

i've started to use Fujitsu S7020D to use Skype, and discovered that microphone does not 'work'. i searched the Internet, and found your postings.
currently, i have version 5.10.0.5172 (sept 2005) of the Realtek HD audio driver. yes, this is an old version. i've not had occasion to use the mic until now. headphone OK and speakers OK, but no microphone.
please would you let me know which version worked for you - you say youdowloaded latest version about a year ago, but what was that ?

    thanks, clive

I would just take it to Fujitsu and let the tech geeks worry about it. Fujitsu Microphones usually work fine. You may want to test the microphone under microphone test .
