    Hey Guys,
I think I'm all set to purchase an s7020.
My decision rests between the crystal view XGA screen, and the matte SXGA screen.
The glossy finish scares me a bit, as I'm weary of eye strain, and I could use the added real estate that an SXGA screen provides.
However, I've heard great things about Fujitsu screens, which I assume apply to the CV glossy screens. If I upgrade to the matte SXGA, can I expect eqaully impressive screen quality?

In other words, it seems people say the Fuji Crystal View screens are at the top of the heap. Can the same be said of their matte screens, compared to other manufacturers?

    Thanks for any help. :fujitsu:

I think most people will likely point you to the CV screen. I went this way and the screen is, indeed, very nice but I also look longingly at my sister-in-laws Thinkpad with its super fine resolution and wish I could fit as much on my screen. This is a tough call.

Not sure about you comment on eye strain. The CV screen would probably be easier on the eye than the SXGA. Glare is not really a problem for me unless I am in extreme conditions.

I love the CV and wouldn't go back, it's totally personal though.

IBM's FlexView screen is very good, but only available on the 15" model.

I just bought S7010D CV. The laptop is a disaster.

The CV matrix is not lit evenly. Very bright bottom. Dark on right side and very dark in bottom corners. Much of eye strain for me. You can find many similair opinios on this in the internet. I have faund it to late however.

The CV is generally good for daylight but if you work in the dark the matt matrix of S6010 was much better for me.

I would beware of S7xxx series. The fan is making a lot of noise after even a few seconds of increased CPU usage.

The keyboard is very "flexy" and really rattles when clicked. It looks like one company produced chasis and another the keys ;)

The lid is very soft, when you press it the matrix is also pressed. Soon you will have white spots on your matrix (like in Dell c640 for example).

I was using so far S6010 and it was really a perfect laptop. S7xxx - BEWARE !!!
