My N6110 has just developed a blue vertical line running from top to bottom. I have hooked up an external monitor and the problem is not there, so I assume its the screen.
I phoned Fujitsu Canada and they want about $900 (parts, labor, tax) to fix. Now I have seen on ebay screens for about $200 plus shipping, for example from "DVD super one", "Bliss Computers-LAPTOP LCD SCREENS", and "EXPRESS LCD SCREENS".

Does anyone know how well these replacement screens are?
Does anyone have a link to a how-to on replacing the screens?
Cheers.

I work in a computer repair shop and we get LCDs from the Bliss Computers website ( http://www.blisscomputer.com/). It's a terrible website but they have cheap LCDs and guarantee compatibility. You will need to find a service manual for your laptop for specific directions on replacing the LCD, but it's usually just... remove battery, remove rubber bits on the LCD bezel, remove screws, remove bezel, remove screws under bezel, remove screen...
Personally, I would try reseating the video cable going from your GPU/mobo to the LCD first. Worth a shot! -
Thanks for the reply. Do you mean you get their ( Bliss Computers) screens because people have brought them back because they are faulty, or do you get them as replacements for laptops that need new screens?
I'll do as you suggested and re-seat the cable.
I have attached a screenshot of the line.Attached Files:

If the line (which I do not see) shows up in a screenshot, it's not an issue with the LCD, it's software or GPU malfunctioning.
We get screens from Bliss Computers as replacements for broken screens. -
OK, thanks. I viewed the screen shot with my desktop downstairs and I can't see the line either, so it must be the LCD.
Are the screens from Bliss any good? How would they compare to the ones shipped with a new Fujitsu, are they close in quality?
Thanks for all your help -
I assume the quality is on par, if you have concerns you can find out your specific manufacturer of the LCD then ask Bliss if they supply the same.

Thanks once again for your help.
I was able to take the screen off and remove the ribbon cable, re-attatch it and install the screen again, but the line is still there.
Think I'll just go ahead and order from Bliss. When I was emailing them earlier they replied to all the emails within a few minutes, very good communication.
