    Hi!

For quite a long time now I have been looking for a solution to a trivial but annoying problem:

I want to work with two displays. My external LCD stands on left side of my desk. I can set up external monitor space to be on the left side of the desktop and it works perfectly untill I close the laptop lid or put laptop to sleep...

When it wakes up the second monitor area is always on the right side of the desktop.
    System: Vista Business
Graphics card: Intel 4 Series Express

The hardware solution would be place the external monitor on the right side of the desk, but it is the last thing I am willing to do when everything else fails.

Fun fact - it works perferctly under Windows 7 beta. Unfortunately due to corporation regulations I can not use W7 now.

I have already googled out some guidelines and additional software, but can not find anything now. I would like to avoid installing any additional software as well.

I suspect the problem monitor positioning can be done in two separate places - in the regular display settings and in the driver settings (Intel 4 Series Express) and those two setups mix with each other.

Is there a solution to this annoying little problem?

    Hi there,

I have the exact same problem. Any help anyone?

I'm also having issues getting the laptop to sleep / hibernate. It only locks the screen.

Any help would really be appreciated.

    Thanks

Same problem here. Could any experts help us? Thanks.

I use Vista corporate edition on my D630 laptop, and the 2nd monitor sometimes will default to right side of my primary monitor. I have Primary monitor thru docking station, 2nd monitor on Left side. Sometime when I undock/sleep, the 2nd monitor will default to right side of primary, which requires me to revert in display properties. Very annoying.

I have two theories where the issue might be... 1)docking station, 2) nVidia driver overriding windows display properties or reverse.

    Any help is greatly appreciated!!!
