I was strongly considering a Fujitsu notebook come this summer, but recently, a friend was telling me that one of his friends had a Fujitsu notebook and when it broke, it took a month or two for service. Apparently, it had to be sent to Japan or something like that. A month is a really long time if it's your main computer.

Any experiences with Fujitsu's servicing here in Canada?

I did a quick search of this forum, and it sounds like PortableOne services Fujitsu notebooks nicely in the USA.. but I'm not in the USA.

just search if u have an ASP near your area.

I live in Edmonton, and there is one... havent had any experience with my notebook yet, but I am pretty certain they will try to fix it on the spot if possible.

Thanks for the link. I believe that I have looked up the location of service centres before, and there is one in the same city as the university that my friend is at.

Which is why I decided to ask. It seems strange that even though there was a service centre nearby, his friend had to send his notebook away for over a month.

Thus, I'm a little confused. Do the service centres just take a long time to process the requests? Anyone with experiences?

No, they usually only need a day if they have the parts.

Yah, that's what I was sort of worried about. In your experience, how often do they have the parts required?

Or do you think that this is worth the risk of getting a Fujitsu notebook?

I'm interested in the T4010.. and it seems that this is the only option for me if I want to get a tablet convertable with an internal optical drive..
