Does anyone get this new model? The review from CNET says that the battery life of S7020D is about 3 hours. Is that true? Is S7020D really better than S7010D? Should I get S7020D or S7010D? Can anyone give me some opinions?

    Thanx

Bought one for my daughter and received it this week. The machine is VERY impressive. Can't answer your ? about battery life because I haven't timed it (but I will ask her to do so after the holiday), but I can tell you I was extremely impressed. The screen is gorgeous. I chose the CV instead of the higher resolution, since I find (and she found) the higher resolution's print annoyingly small. The screen quality if FAR superior to my other daughter's IBM T42, which is a year old. The machine is extremely light (which is why we went with Fujitsu). It gets a little warm with use, but not hot. It is very quiet except when the cd drive is in use- then it makes the usual noise that laptop optical drives tend to make. The drive door for the cd opens easily and the cd inserts a little more easily than the Dell laptops. The keyboard has a slight flex in the center, but it is slight, and you won't notice it unless you are looking for it 9I felt it, my daughter didn't; I tend to hit keys harder though, having learnt to type back in the days of the dinosaurs prior to modern keyboards  . Did notice the slighly brighter screen along the bottom inch of the display that others have reported, but it is a non-issue. I would highly rec. the D version- the Atheros card is much better than the IBM. Also- we had already set up a super G network (D-Link DI-624 router) at home, and this laptop reflects the 108 connection speed versus the 54 that my husband's laptop with the IBM wireless card does. Same network/same house, yet browsing is noticeably faster on the Fujitsu.
I am far from an expert when it comes to computers, but I had researched this extensively, and the machine is as impressive as I had hoped for. Of course, the integrated video is a trade-off, but the weight/portability for a 14.1" screen can't be beat (unless you get the Panasonic, which is much more expensive and not as good).
The 7020 is a few ounces lighter, I think reportedly has better hard drive protection, and has a better video card (while the new model still has an integrated video card, it is a better card, with up to 128 mb of RAM, versus the 64 mb card in the 7010). If I remember correctly, the other changes were minor- oh- except, of course, that the new model has the Sonoma chip with 533 front side bus versus 400.
Unless you find a really good buy on last year's model, since the prices are the same, I would definitely go with this year's model. Of course, if the price was right on a closeout deal, that might be a different matter.
    Hope that helps a little...
