    Hi!
I am currently studying in a university and I am using a desktop over in my hostel. It's 2 1/2 yrs old and was thinking about getting an upgrade or changing it into a notebook. I came across S6220 and found it to be very appealing. I was thinking whether I should wait another half a yr or get it now? I have a better desktop at home so I see a need for a mobile laptop for my work. Would the specificaions improve a lot by then?

Pls advice. Will appreciate any assistance. Thx.

With computers, you can always be stuck in the "Should i get it now, or wait for it to be better and cheaper later" delema.

No matter when you think about purchasing a computer, you can always ask yourself if you'd be better off to wait for a faster, cheaper one later...there will always be a faster one, and the prices will always fall on computers.

So my advice to you is this, if you feel that you need your computer now, go and buy it. if you feel that you dont need it now, but will in 6 months, wait, and get a faster computer when you truely need it for less money.

    Goodluck!

I'd actually buy the S6210 now. It's a great machine...I doubt you need the new processor anyway.

If I m buying a notebook, it will be from my school coz it offers a student rebate of $400-$500 from the market price. However the downside is that the available Fujitsu models are S6220, C1212D and E8010. The S6220 is the cheapest and lightest. I dunno whether the offer will still be ard half a yr down the road.

Also, I haf heard that the quality and performance of Fujitsu notebooks are average and the price that we are paying is mainly for the brand itself. Any comments?

    Would appreciate any assistance. Thx.

How much would the specifications of the notebook change in about 2 months time? How abt the price? Would the drop be significant? I would probably get it in 2 months time..

The 6220 will not see any new features or a significant price drop in the next two months.

I suppose you must buy a Lifebook 8010 for performance and long-live machine. But it s not cheap, and all this systems are flex features, it means u can upgrade its gpu,and then if you have a gme chipset of inteland took a 1,6 dothan, you can easily upgrade it to 2.0,ram and others too...so it goes to min.2-3 years. And unfortunately everything will be old,if you think that market goes to up and selling.
