    Hi folks,
I've got a Lifebook E8020D (yeah, it's 5 years old), and last week I finally heard the click of death and Windows won't boot most of the time.

Question is, it is worthwhile spending the 50 bucks for a new HDD or should I let it rest in peace? (I should probably replace the battery as well, if that's even possible at this point.)

    Any thoughts?

If it still meets your needs performance wise, then yes it's worth saving. Last time I checked, a new hard drive and battery is less than a new notebook.
