Well over here in Europe, the same basic spec XPS (t2300) is 150 euro more than si 1520. I also read of some issues with build quality on the XPS http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=70297

I only ordered the SI yesterday (wednesday) and expect it to here tomorrow (if not today)

Yes, the Si is cheaper here aswell with similar specs. But alot worse batterylife. And i contacted Fujitsu-Siemens asking about the possibility of a 9cell battery (which is what im getting with the XPS) and they replied that it was built for the battery it comes with, and they dont recommend using any other.

So the batterylife of 3 hours didnt apeal to me very much at all. And i was worried that the fans would make alot of noise. But i think that it is a kickass comp aswell.

Well as for your first question. NOISEY FAN?

Well it seems you are the victim of a spammer. I have got both computers since the day I posted lat reply (10th Aug). I can honestly say that it is by far the quietest notebook I have ever encountered. You can only hear the fan if the room is completely silent. Most times it feels that the fan is off untill you can feel it blow out the hot air.

Regarding the battery. Battery life is not totally dependent on the amount of cells or their output. Battery life is very much dependent on the effeciency of the laptop itself.

I have not done any extensive testing on the Amilo1520 for battery. But I can assure you that Fujitsu Siemens figuire of four hours is possible. On lite to meduim ussage we have got 3 hours easy.

I am writing this on my new Xi1546, which is a complete different story regarding battery (1.5 hours lol)

Overall first impressions of the 1520. Superb machine for 900 euro + tax. It weighs 1.7KG. For intensive games, I would buy a laptop with a separate graphics card.
