I wish my Japanese were a little better and I'd have more of a clue what the other specs are on that notebook [)]

Looks nice though, the Fujitsu look is a little more conservative on the U.S. market I'd say!

After rebate .. it something like 1900 USD, for the spring model (the Shinny red one) with the specs I've listed above.

The only disadvantage is that I am getting Japanese software with it and I aint Japanese ... and far from being fluent with the lang.

But thats a none issue, I'll install my English XP :)

Case looks sharp. How much $ does that work out to?

Any idea if/when T70 will be available in US?

I want to buy the T-70G or even better the T-70GU. The problem is that I live in Europe and if I am going to buy it throgh a webshop I have to pay tax and/or VAT on it, and then it will be too expensive. I am going on eastern holiday to Malaysia and have hoped to get it there. Unfortuately I have realized that they only sell the P5020 and this model does not come with a DVD-R/RW.
Can anyone help ? Is it somewere in KL I can get it ?

    Frodo,

the GU version is available only in Japan in a specific shop (Bic Camera), if you happen to visit Japan I'll be more then happy to assist.

As for the P5020D .. I am quite sure you can find it with a DVD-R/W, though, hopefully Brian will read this thread and he'll be able to assist furthermore as he's the Fuji expert :)

I am still trying to decide T70GU or TR3/B :)

    Good luck.

    Ryo.

Thank you for the reply. I was in contact with a sony dealer in Malaysia and he thought he would get the TR3 middle next month. However he was not sure that the asia pacific version had a DVD/RW.

I think the model is called TR3AP3 AND IS ABOUT 3000$ !!!!

I always loved Sony (sorry Fuji fans) but the price is usually steep.

Anyway, lets go back to the Fuji subject as its a Fuji forum.

    http://www.pc-ap.fujitsu.com/products/lb_p5020_specs.html

This is the malaysian site - as you can see its a Combo and not Multi drive hence no DVD-R/W.

Do you use a direct flight from Norway to Malaysia? maybe you can get it at one of your transit destinations (assuming its Hongkong or Bangkok .. I am sure you can find a Japanese/American models there) .. or alternatively .. Japan as I've said.

Though, If I could choose whether to buy it in Japan or US I'd do it in the US as it is slighly cheaper now due to the weakness of the Dollar, keyboard layout and last but not least English Drivers/OS/Apps.

Anyone is interested in Japanese Office version? Free of charge? :)

    Cheers,

    Ryo.
