    The anticipation is killing me....

EDIT: For those of you who don't want to read 3 whole pages of me whining about shipping delays, I finally received my N3530 on 3 April 06 as promised by P1. It's amazing!

Well, I finally ordered my N3530 last Friday. I crossed my fingers hoping I wouldn't run into the same wait times as isvara did with his N6410, but alas, it was not to be. Got my order status today and was told it was expected to ship from Fujitsu around 30 March. I suppose if it does actually ship that date I probably won't see it until around 3 April. Deep down I knew what I was getting into ordering a relatively new CTO model, but still the wait is agonizing. :p

Guess I shouldn't feel so bad though, as it could be worse. If any of you were following dietcokefiend's saga in the Lenovo/IBM forum you know what I'm talking about. Poor guy waited over 2 months for his z60m and then wound up sending it back in the end (story has a happy ending though - he got a T60 and loves it).

Anyway, I spent almost 3 months deliberating this purchase, so I guess a few more weeks won't kill me. I suppose I could have ordered from Newegg and had it by now, but I'd rather wait simply because of the fact that I'll have P1 standing behind it when it finally does get here.

congrats! i'm sure you'll love it. my new choice is delayed too :( ! i can't win! hoping march 23ish...a full month from when i first placed an order (N6410). this wait is agonizing!!!!! too much time to second-guess and continue with the obsessive comparisson shopping.

let us know when you get it and your initial thoughts!

You poor guy, almost seems so sometimes, doesn't it? Hope it does come when you expect. Chin up, stiff upper lip, and all that good stuff. ;)
I'd like to hear impressions of your new lappy as well. So far noone (that I've seen) has posted much regarding HP's new business notebooks. Best of luck!

Alright, then. It finally shipped. Seems it has made it from Osaka in a very timely manner. But now it appears from the tracking info that the FDA (the FDA!?!) is spending some quality time with it in Louisvile, KY.

What good is 2 day international air delivery if the bureaucrats are gonna sit on the darn thing for an unspecified period of time? I swear this deal is gonna be the death of me.....

    He ordered a N3530.

How many Fuji notebooks are made completely in Japan? i think my 6210 was made in China but the N6410 is made in Japan correct?

    Status update!!
And a very positive one, it seems! Although a bit puzzling. It now shows my package in transit from Anchorage, AK?? However, my delivery date has been rescheduled from 3 April to 31 March (Today!!). If this holds true I may actually get to spend a weekend with my baby before I start night shift next week. w00t!! :D

Indeed I did. From Portable One.

That's an interesting question, because the originating point for shipping for mine was Osaka, Japan. It had also been my understanding that the N3500 series was now made in China as well. Perhaps the parts were manufactured in China and it was simply assembled in Japan? Guess I'll find out when it gets here....

I had the same experience with UPS as you did. The FDA, Customs and God knows who ever else.

OK, really starting to question the accuracy of the tracking data now. Hasn't changed from "03/30/2006 2:19 PM Departure Scan" from Anchorage, AK since I first looked at it at 5:30 AM this morning. It's 6:20 PM local now, and UPS doesn't deliver much past 8:00 PM around here. Knew I shouldn't have gotten my hopes up. :(

I'm using the tracking number that Fujitsu emailed to me. Status still hasn't changed, even though it still shows today as the delivery date.

Do you think if I call them instead that they will have more up to date info than the tracking web site?

Called the phone number. All I got was an automated voice tha told me "Your package is on it's way to you". Not really very helpful. Anyway, it's 7:30 PM here so I'm giving up hope of seeing it until Monday. Cruel, cruel UPS.

It's back in Louisville now? What in the heck is going on?!?

    AAAAAAARRRRRRGH!!!

And now it's left Louisville (again) and is on it's way to heaven knows where. By the time this thing gets here it will already have travelled more than it will the whole time it's in my possesion.

Hey Mach , I feel your pain. I went through the same thing and UPS was less than helpful. I was told that they had up to four days to deliver an international package and that the website information was only an esitmate.
All of the back and forth between Louisville is the package clearing all of the BS (at least this is what I was told).

However, I did receive mine in the two days. God I dislike UPS with a passion.

    Hey Mach,
Too bad they didn't use Fedex LOL. The UPS boys are not doing well at the moment (contract negotiations with pilots). I feel your pain as well. I fly MD11s at FredEx, where do you fly Hercs?

PS. I'm in Anchorage right now, you want me to walk over to their facility and pickup your laptop for ya :) LOL

Are you asking because of my avatar? That is actually a logo from Jimmy Buffett's website depicting his Grumman HU-16 Albatross sea plane. But I am in the Air Force. My unit is an F-15 squadron, though. No Hercs here. :)

Thanks for the offer, lol, but you're too late. It already departed Anchorage.

EDIT: Scratch that. Latest info shows that it's actually here at the UPS receiving facility! And no Saturday delivery available. :( So close and yet so far away.....

Oh boy. "Out for delivery" at 6:29 AM. 9:26 AM now. Let's see, they have until 7:00 PM to deliver and I have to be at work by 2:00 PM. The way my luck has been running the delivery guy will show up at the door at 2:05 PM, LOL.

My N6210 also shipped from Japan but it says made in China so i was thinking they may still perform all there quality control in Japan or possibly it is assembled in Japan. I was hoping this Fujitsu rep (I guess) could answer that.

Well, headed for work now and still no lappy. Been on the delivery truck for six and a half hours now. I could understand it taking this long if I lived in NYC or somewhere like that, but this a small, rural town. God, I hate UPS. Seems like FedEx is always johnny-on-the-spot.

My kid gets home at 3:00 PM, so hopefully we won't miss the delivery guy. If my son calls and tells me he found one of those @$#! "Sorry we missed you" door hangers I will be fit to be tied......

Oh, man. I met the UPS guy just as I was going to lock my front door to leave for work. But it's here!!! :D It had to sit in it's box waiting for me all night, longest 9 hours of my life (well, close). All I can say about this thing so far is that it just screams elegance. The weight is a little less than I thought it would be, I guess I must have a stronger back than some. And the screen, god, the screen. Even before I turned it on I was thinking how nice it looked. Boots quick, everything is responsive. No flex anywhere that I've found so far, keyboard included. The key pitch is very positive and gives very tactile feedback. The touchpad is a little on the small side, but I'm getting used to it. It also has a very textured feel to it. Anyway that's all for now. Just got done uninstalling NIS (dreadful bugger) and I'm going to continue cleaning it up for a bit before I head off to bed. Can't wait for this weekend to play with it more!

You're not in Oregon, are you?

I saw some UPS guy sitting in his truck, playing with what looked like a brand new Fujitsu laptop a couple of hours ago. He's been sitting in his truck for a couple hours now.

    nahhhhhh...... :D

    (Enjoy your new Laptop!)

All N series notebooks are made in China. Quality in Japan.
