Hi - I've been reading thru all these posts and it is all extremely helpful for me - so thanks. Anyways, on to my question that I can't seem to figure out (obviously, or I wouldn't be asking...) ~

I'm interested in a Fujitsu laptop to use as my law school computer - I'd only be using it for normal uses (word, email, movies, etc) - I'm not a gamer or anything like that. Since I'll be taking the computer to school and back home again I'm interested in the idea of a port replicator to keep at home to hook my mouse and printer up to to eliminate continual plugging/unplugging (that is the point of these things isn't it???). BUT...I can't find one for the new S6210 - is that cause it doesn't exist?!?! So now what to do...any suggestions or am I just being silly thinking this is something else that I need (in the middle of my ever growning list of things to buy...)

    Thanks for all your help!

    Hi Erika,

There is a docking solution listed on the official Fujitsu site under accessories.

    USB 2.0 Docking Station (FPCPR41)

    1 USB 2.0 upstream port
    2 USB 2.0 downstream ports
2 PS/2 ports (keyboard and mouse)
    1 serial port
    1 parallel port
    1 10/1000 Ethernet port
    AC Adapter included

    For $99

    Go there: http://webshop.fujitsupc.com/fpc/Ecommerce/accstore.jsp

Click on docking and select your model.

You might be able to get it cheaper from other places such as portableone or do a price match at www.pricegrabber.com

    Hope that helps.

Yes, Fujitsu has moved away from the traditional port replicator in many of their models. I think the easiest solution is to buy a USB hub to plug everthing in to, then you just have monitor and power. I've never felt the $100 option was very usefull.

Even with a docking station, you'll still be plugging and unplugging something in and out. If it's just a mouse and printer, what's the hassle of plugging in two things? And, if you go wireless, you can access the printer without having to plug in anything!

Okay, so not everything wireless. I'm not aware of any S-Video wireless options.

not it's not, but I'd think somebody is working on it.
If Sony can make a wireless headphone, Dolby Digital, surround sound, then I'm sure it's possible.(I'm not saying it's affordable for most consumer though) It's just that, it can't be bluetooth, bandwidth wise that is.

Thanks for all the help! I sort of wondered if I needed one anyways...just a printer and a keyboard is really all I'll have. And typically I'm not that lazy [ :)] I think I'll just not get one and wait until I see how my life works without one!

Now...if only I could just decide on a laptop and commit and BUY!!
