Still waiting for both to be released in Hongkong.

U904 has more ports, higher screen resolution and a normal keyboard compare with the new X1, ordinary SATA3 ssd slot which is very easy to find a replacement in market.

New X1 Carbon is lighter, adaptive keyboard, gesture control, and we are looking at nine hours of battery life, and ,,,,it is IBM. I've never had a IBM laptop, but from other people who have used IBM, never had any complains about it.

    Struggled

Lenovo is not IBM. I'd buy the U904 if I had to choose between the two machines.

For laptops that labled as IBM, it is an IBM but with an addtional Lenovo logo on it. Lenovo kept IBM's original research center (Yamato Labs) and production lines. Ideapad series are Lenovo, so the quality should still remains. I think I might go for U904 as wel...might

I bought the U904, knowing I can update the RAM and HDD if I wanted to. This is seemingly not possible with the new X1 CARBON From Lenovo. I believe in Lenovo quality, and the carry overs in manufacturing technique as they inherited the line ThinkPad line from IBM, which has no hand in the computer making process. The experience Lenovo has in making Think branded products is great, and they have a excellent support team to help when needed.

But, I believe Fujitsu has great support, should I need it.

There haven't been any laptops with an IBM label since late 2008...

I'd go for a Fujitsu nowadays.

They should have just update the old X1C, instead of changing nearly everything. Hope you enjoy your new U904, how is the keyboard and mouse?

No way would I buy the Fujitsu without seeing a single professional review on it. What's the deal with that, the various review sites just don't touch Fujitsus? It's been out long enough now that I'd expect to have seen one.

Fujitsu is not a super big company. Also laptops that are made in Japan tend to be better than laptops made in China.

I really like the ThinkPad series, having a T series myself, and almost got the new X1 Carbon. That went out the window when I found out you couldn't upgrade anything in it. I've never owned a Fujitsu notebook before (scanner, yes), and took a chance with it. So far, the only thing I don't care for is the keyboard. The ThinkPad keyboard is still the best in class, imo, but I'll adjust to the Fujitsu... Otherwise, the quality and support I've received from them is great thus far. I like being able to e-mail Fujitsu and get an answer in an hour or so.

That may be true, but is U904 made in Japan at all?
