Just got my S2110 and I have opened up the HDD compartment and have removed the old HDD out. But there is an ORANGE ribbon cable thing that is connected to the old harddrive where all the pins are. Am I supposed to remove this and attach it to the new one?

yes this an adapter. remember the pictures in that thread i gave you a link to. they were of an s6000. I expected the S2000 to be the same style.

So unplug this adapter from the old hard drive. put on the new. and attach the other end where it was with the original setup.

BTW. how do you like the S2000? Is it as nice as I think it is? :D ... I WANT ONE

Oh okay, good, I was just wondering since it was attached pretty tightly and I did have to use some (delicate) force to get it off. So I replaced the RAM first, then the HDD. Now I'm rebooting from the provided CDs.

I will post a first impressions once I actually get the laptop ON and out of boot sequence. I haven't even seen the true display of it yet! I went straight into upgrading the bits and parts. :D I'm just as anxious as you are!
