Scroll down and click on the video review of the T70G, which appears to be the black Japanese DVD-RW version of the P5020D. Pretty good review, even comparing it in size to other laptops.

Scroll down even further and there's a decent video review of the Panasonic W2 as well.

    Enjoy![ ;)]

Very cool...yes, the T70G is the Japanese match to the 5020, more or less. They do have a DVD burner option though...

    Nice find nobbie!

that black finish is pretty cool. i suppose the material makes up for the .5 pounds in difference to the US version? also does the 5020 have an anti glare screen like that? I emailed fujitsu today asking if they are going to release a dvdrw optical drive for the 5000 series and they said they have no plans. I contacted laptopsinc on the same issue and they said fujitsu will announce it Feb. any one know what the deal is?

I think the DVD-RW makes up for the .5 extra lbs [ ;)]

That black finish is pretty fine. But I really hate fingerprints. How about leatherbound? Now that would be sweet. If it get's tattered, just take it in to get reupholstered! I know a great auto upholstery guy. Diamond Tuck, anyone?[ :p]

No, it's the case, not the drive. In any event, it will be soon I'm sure. Laptopsinc will know before the Fujitsu reps. In general, phone reps are the last to know much of anything.

Thank you for posting my site here and for taking the time to watch my videos. I hope they have been helpful. I am updating my site but I expect to have a Panasonic R2 and Y2 review up soon.

With a built in DVD-R, can you record video from a mini 'pc camera' directly to the DVD disc? I want to record lectures.

Or do you still have to save onto HD first, then burn to DVD?

Are there any aftermarket DVD-R available for 5020? Is it likely in future, legacy compatible for the 5020 bay, or 2120 bay?

    Thanks!
    Neil

PS: what was that "Interlink" model?

wait till march. you should see a dvdr(probably +-) avail for sale then. according to laptopsinc the unit itself would be like 400 but if you get a laptop and upgrade it to dvdr it'll only be 100 more. pretty good deal.
