Upgraded my 6520 from Vista Business 32 to Windows 7 Professional 32 so inplace upgrade was available.

Almost immediately upon starting the upgrade there was a large onscreen message stating that the function of the trackpad was disabled and it was certainly true. The big problem was that this notice obscured 98% of the Windows 7 upgrade messages as it was always on top and in the center of the screen with the Windows messages underneath and I could not use the mousepad to remove it. It was very scary to make upgrade choices using the keyboard (N for Next) without seeing most of the message box. Fortunately I did correctly choose the inplace upgrade rather that a clean install!

I am not sure how to avoid this problem. Perhaps having a USB mouse plugged in while doing the upgrade.

    You have been warned.

Interesting. I didn't notice that when I upgraded yesterday, but maybe it was b/c I did a clean install (W7 64).
