Anyone know what the weight of this notebook will be with the standard default battery?
In addition what is the best estimate of battery life with the standard default battery?

Does anyone want to comment here?
Everyone I have looked there are differing opinions. Every review says something different and most of them don't tell you if it is with or without the battery or the type of battery for battery length.
Can someone verify this information for me? Brian? Someone with the S7010?
Thanks!

Thanks for the response. That website is exactly what I mean. It says the battery life is UP TO 4 hours with the main battery. That really doesn't tell me much. I was hoping for some actual user information. The weight too. It says it is 4.3 lbs with the DVD Combo drive. But what type battery is that with? 4 cell? 6 cell? I don't think they give enough specific information. That is why I made this post.
One more question about the S7010. Do they have a black or gray keyboard option? From the pics it looks like the keyboard is white. How is it with dirt? Does it get dirty quickly? Just curious from users of this notebook.
I was tossing around this notebook along with the Asus W3V. But after seeing the Asus' battery life and weight of around 5 lbs, I think I am going to make the jump to the Fujitsu. Just want some confirmation on these issues from those that have used this notebook.
Thanks again!

listed is the weight with the battery - optical drive, and weight with both battery and optical drive. Fujitsu never list weights without batteries since removing the battery is sort of a none option since they don't offer a cover for the compartment.
As for actual battery life I cannot help since I never used it, but Fujitsu are usually pretty close on estimates.

well, I don't have the s7000. I do have the s6231. So you can just think that the battery like may be about 30min less on the s7000 because of the larger screen.
I can get about 3.5 hrs with wifi on and screen on 50 - 75% brightness. I say about 3.5 because it also depends on what else I am doing at the time.
There is no larger battery for the s series, you can just add another battery via the modular bay.
I personally founf Fujistu's website very informative. Is the us format different than the Canadian one? (I use the Canadian one). -
There is only one type of main battery for the S7, and this is included in the weight of both the total unit and the unit with a weight saver instead of optical drive. Fujitsu has nothing about the weight of the modular bay battery in case you decide to have 2 batteries installed.
As for the keyboard, it is white. The black keyboards are only for the asian models. My N6 has a white keyboard. I have had it for 2 weeks only, but it is still clean. Personally I find white keyboards nicer than black ones.
[Edit]: what does it matter how many cells the battery is? they give you the watts hour rating, which is what really matters for battery life. And Doleco I think the battery on the S7 will last just as much as the S6's even with the larger screen, cause it has a higher rating than the one in the S6, 47.5 compared to 51.8 WattHr.

Good info. I didn't know that the S7010 had only 1 standard battery. I was thinking that they may give the weight with the 4 cell and the battery life with a 6 cell. Typically the more cell the longer the life but heavier the notebook. If there is only 1 type then it doesn't matter at all. Thanks.
In your opinion, is it worth it to hop on the S7010 now or wait a few weeks for a refreshed model, as I heard that it will be refreshed. If it is going to be refreshed will there be a price drop of the current model?
Also, besides for proportableone.com and the fujitsu webpage- where are other good places to scoop this notebook up on the web?
Thanks for the answers so far! -
I didn't buy online so I can't help you there.
But as for a price drop, if you can wait until the summer there may be one. I think I read on this site that Intel will drop the price of the dothan then. -
S7010D has a bad keyboard the S6231 is somewhat better. It is the lightest 14 inch screen so you must give up some strength it you want lightweight. I thing the 13.3 of the 6231, whihc is the same resolution, might be a better fit especially if you are using it on a airplane often. THe 14 is a little to large for a tray table.
What is cool about both is you can eject the dvd drive and save a few ounces. Plus you can buy a second battery that fits into the dvd drive slot.
I get 3+ hours on my S7010d with the standard battery. -
Over four pounds with the drive? That's too bad, I had thought it was 3.3 with it. I guess that's without it.

No it isn't the lightest.
The Panasonic Y2 also has an optical drive and is a full pound lighter.
