I want to buy a DVD burner for my S7010D, but am not sure which models fit. I am thinking of buying the NEC ND6650 OEM ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16827152048) . Does anybody know if this will fit my notebook or if there are any other recommendations? Thanks.

Edit: My current drive is a Teac dw-224e-b

I am sure the NEC 6650 will fit. It, and the Teac, are standard half inch high ODDs. The only possible issue is whether the drive is set to master or slave, which is usually set in the firmware. This is only an issue if the S7010D uses one IDE channel for both the HDD and the ODD, in which case the ODD needs to be set to slave. You can check the IDE channels through Device Manager > IDE ATA / ATAPI controllers.

In my experience it is also possible to exchange the fascias between different burners. They are usually held on by some plastic clips.
