Hi!
I am trying to find a laptop to use for music production, and one absolute requirement is that it must have a Texas Instruments based built-in firewire port.
I have got good offers on the Lifebook E8410 and Celsius H250 models, but nobody can tell me if these laptops have a Texas Instruments chip for firewire or not.
It is very easy to find out though. Just open device manager, click the "+" beside IEEE1394 devicegroup and have a look at the device name in the list below. If it doesn't say anything about Texas Instruments or TI explicitly, it is not Texas Instruments.
It would be a great help if someone who owns these models could check this for me...

My E8410 doesn't seem to have a TI controller as it's only listed as 'OHCI Compliant'.
I also have a 1394b ExpressCard installed which is listed as 'Texas Instruments OHCI Compliant'. -
Thanks mankmeister!
If it is not explicitly stated, it is not based on a TI chip.
I used to think that I could buy a non-TI laptop and just add an Express Card or PCMCIA card with a TI chip, but I have been told that this is not good enough. I guess that the design of the non-TI base system in some way affects the expansion ports as well...
Which firewire chip in Lifebook E8410 and Celsius H250?
