I'm trying to figure out what panel this n6460 has and hardware id is like MS_0000. I tried everest and it reports nothing. The fujitsu support guy i chatted with said fujitsu makes their owns screens.. which is bull i thought. The spec sheet says :

17" Color-Enhanced Crystal View wide XGA+ TFT display; Brightness 370 nits; contrast ratio 600:1

So does anyone have any clue who makes these screens? is it LG? If so whats the model.. and can you link me to to some LG notebook lcd spec sheets? Any help appreciated.

I sold this notebook to my friend and im trying to get a similar lcd in my next notebook. I don't want the junk lcds that are out there.

And here i thought samsung made crappy panels. Gophn any clue if the eurocom np9262's wsxga (1680x1050) panel is similar to the samsung one on this fujitsu? Oh and whites being grainy or sparkley is bad and glossy screen is what im looking for, the other resellers only have matte 1680x1050, unless you can ask for a glossy one.. Well thanks anyway.

here is a WSXGA+ (1680x1050) panel that is used (in the previous models) :

    LG.Philips

    Model Name LP171WE2

    Active Area[mm] 367.42 x 229.64
    Outline Dimension[mm] 382.2 x 244.5
    Thickness[mm] 6.2
    Resolution 1,680 x RGB x 1,050
    Aspect Ratio 16:10
    Pixel Pitch[mm] 0.219(116)
    Number of Colors 262,144(6bit)
    Luminance[cd/m2] 300
    Color Saturation(%) 45
    Weight[g] 670
    Contrast Ratio 600:1
    Interface LVDS 2 port
    Viewing Angel[',U/D/L/R] 100/130
    Color Temperature[K]
    Response Time[ms] 25

I cant confirm if this panel is still the same WSXGA+ used in the current models, since there are matte and glossy panels now.

You can call the vendor to confirm.

I believe the brightness (and with best response) 17" LG panel is this one:

    LP171WP7

    Active Area[mm] 367.2 x 229.5
    Outline Dimension[mm] 382.2 x 247.5
    Thickness[mm] 6.7
    Resolution 1,440 x RGB x 900
    Aspect Ratio 16:10
    Pixel Pitch[mm] 0.255(100)
    Number of Colors 262,144(6bit)
    Luminance[cd/m2] 450
    Color Saturation(%) 45
    Weight[g] 735
    Contrast Ratio 800:1
    Interface LVDS 2 port
    Viewing Angel[',U/D/L/R] 120/140
    Color Temperature[K]
    Response Time[ms] 8

Specs are amazing... but only in WXGA+ for now.

I thought fujitsu made their own, (because they make LCD's)...that was a surprise.
