Im probably starting to sound like a broken record (if youve seen my other posts), but im looking for a new laptop due to my last one overheating, and ive been looking for a good quality build that could do everything, including gaming. I found the Amilo XA 1526 here -

    http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/126844

And id just like to know more about it before i make and decisions. Is it a rock solid well built machine ? Anyone had any problems ? How does the proccesor compare to a T5500 ?

    Thanks in advance !

    hi again :)

as stated in other thread its a great ntebook and as for heat problems i cant comment as i havent had any

as for comparison yes the intel are generaly better i.e faster slightly in benchmarks but everyday usage you wouldnt notice as its dual cored and the games are governed by gpu and only a little on cpu.

there is a reveiw in this section if you look further down the page to get a more in depth feel for it.

as other have said everyone has their preference in brands but i tend to stick to toshiba and fujitsu oh and HP pavillion range (not compaq range) as i rate the 3 very good for support and afterservice.

had bad experiences with 2 sony's and 1 dell

pcpro gave the HP Pavilion dv9292eu a A list score last month and that is an exact duplicate of the xa 1526 except for cpu being next up in range as in the tl60...also the 160gb drive which ebuyer has downgraded to 120 as i bought mine with 160 from them oh and the casing is different but everything else is the same.

    http://www.pcpro.co.uk/labs/113147/hp-pavilion-dv9292eu.html

    HP Pavilion dv9292eu £900
    40gb extra on storage
    slighlty faster cpu

fuji Xa 1526 aprox £700 in del

£200 difference for slightly faster cpu and 40gb more storage that you can rectify by buying a second 160gb drive for around £70 from ebuyer.com

    hope that helpfull

The T5500 will be slightly faster then the 1.6 GHz Turion X2. It will be as fast as an 1.8 GHz Turion X2 though.

I never had a problem with extreme overheating with F&S notebooks. The last one I reviewed (the Xi1526, same hardware almost) stayed very cool, even while gaming.

I heard people, owning Zepto notebooks or something, which CPU gets 100 degrees Celsuis. Never had a problem with a F&S. But I do not have very good experience with the Xa1526. We sold 15 pieces of them, not heard one problem. All satisfied customers I guess. I did a small review, but those were more pictures of the notebook.
