Will ALL Fujitsu S6/7000 series come with fingerprint scanner?

I'm on the verge of ordering a Fujitsu S7020D from P1 and I was just wondering that even though I will not be getting the Fingerprint scanner will the laptop still have the fingerprint scanning port, inbetween the mouse buttons, and the program will just be inactive since I'm not ordering it?

 

i can tell you when i get mine, but i'm almost positive that it will be replaced with a scroll lever like on the S7010. I think someone said the scroll lever is a bit useless though. If you get the FP scanner, it can scroll too. A friend has a T42 and says it can take 4 or 5 swipes for a reading! Worthless IMO. Fujitsu probably wont even load the software, just like they probably wouldn't put DVD burning software if you didn't get a DVDR.

 

I got the S7011 w/ the fingerprint Scanner. I have to tell you i love teh FP scanner, login on windows was quick, even using it on IE (sometimes, i'm an opera fan). and yes, FP scanner can be used to scroll. Get it, plus it's just US$50 upgrade, always brings oohs and ahhs in the airport..

If you can get back to me about it, that would be great, I would very much appreciate it. I'm not really a business-person, I'm actually just a high school student so I'm thinking the FP won't be very pratical for me. I can rather spend the money on a wireless mouse or more RAM.

 

Well, it is scheduled to ship from Osaka Japan on the 7th (free 2 day from portableone ) so i should have a full review up by the 12th or so. Take a look at this picture:






It is the S7010 with the scroll lever. That is what I'm expecting. Also, if you want more RAM, don't buy it from fujitsu, get it from newegg.

 

Yeah, comes with an up/down rocker. I too love the biometric scanner, I think anyone with important data on their machines should consider it.

 

c333, when did you order yours? I still don't have the shipping information for the S7020D ordered on 6/21.
