    Hey!

I bought an Amilo Xi 2428 a couple of weeks ago and the first thing I did was to put Win Xp on it because I don't like Vista. I have a slight problem finding drivers for XP to all hardware in it and can't get much help from Fujitsu since they don't support anything else than Vista. I have found most of them but what I can't seem to find after extensive searching is the ones for the Remote (ITE CIR) that comes with and the Memory card reader. Anyone know any place I can find the drivers or have any tip? Thank you for all help. :)

Ironic enough I think I found the last two :).

EDIT: I spoke too soon. The Remote driver that seemed to be working at first was no match. So still looking for the driver for the remote (ACPI\ITE8709\5&CB7B051&0).

    Hello there
Yes, same problem, drivers and install XP. The link from exoristos gave a blank.
Yes, another link is found. Read the page, and click where it says "her", and you will find drivers to XP for 2428, at least that what they say. I have not tried it yet, but thought of sharing it as it has caused me alot of time and trouble.
    Regards
    Mike

What I can personally say is that in my Amilo Xi 2428 with Windows XP Pro SP2 installed, the only things not working are the Turbo Memory (needs Vista) and the Remote (needs Media Center). Both the Webcam and the Bluetooth work perfectly. :D

i have the xi2528 and like you i wanted to get xp instead of vista . But now after couple of monthes i say that vista is amazing and better than xp , just make sure that u have service pack 1 and to turn user account control off and to set the laptop to high preformance from the power options even if you are not on the battery , just try and tell me if u noticed a difference .

    Hi!

I recently decided to install xp on my amilo, and thanks to this thread I have gotten quite far. I've managed to complete the installation, but when I try to start the computer I get this error:

    0x0000007B (0xBACCF524, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

After a bit of googling I found something about AHCI, and that it should be disabled. But I can't figure out how! Does anyone know how to do it, or do you know another solution to this problem?

    Thanks a lot!
