    Hi all,

I have followed this forum for a while, and indeed the reviews led me to purchase my xi 1546.

I have been very happy with my machine however last night, it seemed a lot noisier than it normally is..

there now seems to be a hi pitch whine coming from one of the fans

Have started the laptop this evening and its boots up and starts quiet,,with the fan purring normally,, then within 2minutes,, it seems the fan ( or another fan) kicks in speeds up ,then the hi pitch whine starts and remains all the time the laptop is on..

The machine appears to be functioning perfectly okay,, but this darned whining noise is soo irritating.

Its only 6 months into its 12month warranty.. do you think I should contact Fujitsu about getting it collected and repaired ?

My gut feeling is its a fan of some sort,, as the noise speeds up and slows down in sync with the normal fan noise ?

    Any ideas please

    Cheers

    Stevie B
