is there a good answer for this? my computer has been plugged in for a good amount of time and the charge of the battery is at 96%
why or how?

did you try rebooting your laptop? how long have u had that battery?
is your laptop doing anything while you are charging? -
normally it would charge back up to 100% no problem whatever i was doing within a few hrs or whatever, but I just used it on the battery down to about 40% so i'll see if it gets back up to 100.
i've had it less than 2 months so i know the battery is fine, and if it isn't Fujitsu will send me a new one, maybe even a high capacity one. -
ok problem solved, i let it run on battery for awhile then just plugged it in and it is back to 100%, don't no why that happened but it was probably just with the battery monitoring software just reading it wrong.

This is not a problem. I think Fujitsu engineers have thought this through.
If your battery has 90% or less charge left, the battery will recharge to 100% as soon as the AC adapter plugged in.
This is done so that there are less charge cycles, increasing the life of your standard battery in the long run.
My P7010 has the same behaviour. -
exactly right jsis, that makes perfect since too. good job fujitsu

it's rather a standard to not charge the battery when it's over 90 or 95 %. not a fujitsu specialty -
i know i just didn't think about it and know i know, "and knowing is half the battle kids"
quote from GI Joes -
My 2 year-old HP notebook doesn't do that.... -
oh snap! jaydee you just got served beyond belief
hahaha
battery % on ac power only up to 96%/
