wow i never even considered the refurb section.

what is newegg policy on refurbs?
if i buy a refurb and it has a scratch on the screen, could i get a refund?

would it be alright to assume it has crystal view?

NewEgg is where I've seen the best deals on discontinued models like this. You might also call www.portableone.com to see if they have any insight on where to find there.

Is it even safe to buy refurnbished products? I tend to shy away from refurnbished products in general even when the price is much cheaper. If it's refurnbished, does that mean something was wrong with it to begin with and they just fixed it?

If it's a refurb, something was broken and repaired. I stay away unless the warranty is a year or longer.

i'm not sure but i think refurbished is supposed to be good as new so i'm thinking u could exchange if something were scratched. and i think newegg only exchanges if theres a problem.

    sorry

i shop at newegg all the time but never got a refurb. all i can get from newegg is that you are taking a risk and they dont test anything. cant find a thing about there return policy on damaged refurbs.
