I have a S6210 and want to upgrade 512MB RAM. I went on crucial and its $109, then I went on oempcworld.com. At oempcworld I could only find the Fujitsu Lifebook S6000, not the S6210, and 512MB RAM on there is $90. However, in contrast between the two sites, the crucial memory is PC2700 and the oempcworld is PC2100??? Am I missing something here?

    PC2100 is DDR266
    PC2700 is DDR333
    all S6K use PC2100 until S6210+, which use i855GME which support DDR333.

I find that oempcworld.com is generally several weeks/months behind in updating their computer listings. It's best to know what you need and go that route.

this is exactly why I told people to upgrade right up front when purchasing a notebook, it's easier to deal with, plus the memory sticks are matched and less likely to cause the problem.

How much of a performance/speed difference would there be between 768MB and 1GB RAM? Reason I ask is because I have a S6210 at 512MB right now and want to upgrade it for some more speed- I use the notebook for basic college student needs, little to no gaming. I can get 256MB for $30 or get the 512MB upgrade for around $110. So Im just wondering which would be my best choice to act on. Thanks

I found that it was a good deal for me to upgrade RAM at purchase. To go from 512mb(2x256) to 768mb was only $75. Some manufacturers RAM upgrade prices are outrageous though.

I am facing that same decision. I have the S6210 with 768mb ram, and could upgrade to 1gig for a little over $100. Do you have 1x512 or 2x256? To be honest, I kind of want to have 1gig of RAM just becuase it sounds good and solid.
