alright, this is my first laptop, and yes i'm a laptop newb so to speak.

Basically i was wondering, what the point is of the furry pads on the bottom of my fukitsu A series lifebook.

They just seem to keep heat in, also, i'm idling at around 59-62 degrees celcius with underload getting to around 73, i don't like this. (thats the CPU by the way)

Im pretty scared of frying my CPU, can anyone give me some advice here? the fan vents seem pretty small for the lifebook but maybe i'm just paranoid

Much thanks from a newbie ;)

Cuz fuzzy pads feel nicer than metal/plastic on you lap. Have you tried parking the CPU in low power mode?

Is it better for the cooling mats to blow the air up or down and out of the laptop. Would the vents get more dirty with the air blowing up at them?

well personally, i think the furry pads seem to warm up the laptop, might be completely wrong, but i need to wait to get home to have a clean of the inside of my laptop, but i'm pretty sure theres not much in there as i rarely rarely use it on a non flat surface, again i could be wrong. But as I said, the fan vents seem pretty small, and as they're on the back is there much point to a cooling pad under the laptop? also whats the best way to cool the laptop using the back vents, i'm not too keen on taking my laptop apart n using the silver compound thing, and i can't really undervolt, the only experience i have with cooling was when my modem overheated and i chucked a packet of frozen peas on top of it, would love to avoid this if possible :)
