If you look back thru the threads on the forum, you'll notice a while back there was an announcement that the S6000 line will not be upgraded. The S6000 with core duo won't be released in the US, although a model for far east asia has already been announced, and probably is already available in stores.

Nothing was said about the S2000. But if I were to guess, I would say it also might not get an upgrade.

According to what was reported here, the 13.3" is costing too much, and that is why the S7000 was kept and the S6000 slashed. I am afraid the S2000 might meet the same fate, since it uses the same screen

But now, most people need widescreen.....!

    Not really.

S series are thin and lights with 13-14" screens and built in optical drives. The Q2010 is an ultra light with a 12" and no built in optical drive. AND it is powered with an ultra low voltage, low speed core solo.

So this is more of a replacement for the B series, though I am not sure if the new Q series has a touch screen like the B.

The end of life of the S6000 is so sad, that Q series is, well, dumb. Leave the showy niche laptops to Sony, who the heck wants a laptop with no built-in ethernet port and the worst selection of ports ever because it's too thin to fit them. The fact Fujitsu thinks people that bought the S6000 would switch to this is puzzling to say the least.

Let me do the keyboard part of the review for the Q2010 without having used it.

    Keyboard and Touchpad

The keyboard is cramped, and not full size. In addition, the key travel on the keys is awful, as expected, because there's no room for the keys to depress more than 1mm.

The S6000 lives in Asia as the S6311 with Core Duo, you can buy in Singapore / Hong Kong / Taiwan: http://shoponline.com.sg/product_info.php/products_id/3946

Then you will probably have to look elsewhere or settle for the shoddy s7000 series.

you can wait for the upcoming Asus notebooks, the Fujitsu S are remaining with standard screens even for the asian only models.

There is a barebone and an ensemble Asus. The barebone is the Z35f, the ensemble is the W7J Pic here, it might come to the US in black, but nothing for sure, or at least that is the last I heard a month or 2 ago!
